Speaking out for immigration reform, Edward James Olmos appears in a public service announcement (in English and Spanish) for the Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM). The videos endorse FIRM's "Keeping Families Together" campaign and urge people to call Congress, join an SMS text message campaign and tell their immigrant stories.
"We have immigration laws that tear families apart instead of helping them stay together," Olmos said. "But we can fix it if Congress passes immigration reform. And you can join me in the fight by texting Justice to 69866."
"We thank Edward J. Olmos for joining us in the fight for immigration reform," said Kica Matos, spokesperson for the Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM), a coalition of immigrant rights organizations in 30 states. "We hope everyone who hears the ads will text Congress, and spread the word to their friends and families to do the same. The Latino and immigrant community know that the power of their voices can have a real impact. Let's continue to use our power by speaking up."
