Edward James Olmos will be in Atlanta next week for two events: the inaugural segment of "CNN Dialogues" and the 25th annual Dragon*Con.

CNN Dialogues

On Wednesday, August 31, Mr. Olmos will be part of the first "CNN Dialogues" panel, discussing demographics and how it relates to the U.S. Census. The event will be held at 7 p.m. ET at The Cecil B. Day Chapel of The Carter Center.

The "Dialogues" series is sponsored by CNN,  the James Weldon Johnson Institute for the Study of Race and Difference at Emory University, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. The public discussions, hosted by CNN's lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer, are expected to feature prominent figures debating current issues.

The 25th edition of the multimedia, science fiction, and comic convention Dragon*Con kicks off on Friday, September 2, in downtown Atlanta.

Mr. Olmos joins several of his Battlestar Galactica co-stars, including Mary McDonnell, Michael Hogan, Tricia Helfer, Aaron Douglas, Tahmoh Penikett, and Richard Hatch, for the event, which runs through Monday, September 5 (Labor Day).
