Bodie Olmos gives new meaning to the word determination. In a matter of a couple weeks, he has signed up for a 100-mile bike race and four triathlons to be spaced out over the next few months.
The first event up will be the June 4 Hammerhead Century, a 100-mile bike race in Ojai, Calif. He plans to follow that up with two triathlons in June: the Redondo Beach Triathlon 2011 on June 12, and the Dina LaVigna Breath of Life Ventura Triathlon 2011 in Ventura, Calif., on June 26. Then, on July 17, he'll tackle 2011 Strawberry Fields Olympic Triathlon, and on August 26, he'll be in the Santa Barbara Triathlon 2011.
All this comes in the wake of an impressive finish of the L.A. Marathon back in March, and while Bodie coaches a class for Snail's Pace Running Shop in Pasadena.
Bodie is the son of Edward James Olmos, as well as Executive Vice President of Olmos Productions. He starred alongside his father in Battlestar Galactica as Brendan "Hot Dog" Constanza.
