"Walkout" width="320" />The Yakima Herald reports that the Edward James Olmos-directed "Walkout" will be shown today as part of the Latino Cultural Film Series.

"Walkout" tells the true story of a group of Mexican-American students who, in 1968, walked out of the classrooms, demanding better education conditions and an end to bias against students of Mexican descent. Mr. Olmos directs the film and has an on-screen role as well. The film stars Alexa Vega, Michael Pena, Yancey Arias, LauraHarring, and Mr. Olmos' son Bodie.

The Yakima showing is sponsored by the Allied Arts of Yakima. You can find out more information on show times in the Yakima Herald article or at Allied Arts of Yakima official website.
