Edward James Olmos as Lt. Martin Castillo on Miami Vice

If you're feeling nostalgic for some vintage Edward James Olmos and that marvelous mustache, Erix over at CHUD.com has begun a rewatch of Miami Vice and is blogging about it and inviting others to watch along with him. He's up to episode three so far and there are only two more to go before he gets to "One Eyed Jack," the sixth episode, which saw Mr. Olmos join the cast as the mysterious, mustachioed, soft-spoken and taciturn Lt. Martin Castillo.

If you wanna catch up here are links to Erix's posts about Episodes 1-3:

  1. Brother's Keeper
  2. Heart of Darkness
  3. Cool Runnin'

Mr. Olmos won the 1985 Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Castillo. In 1986, he nabbed a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV for his role on the show.
